Rough cut for contents page

This is my rough cut for my contents page, as you can see I have a number missing off my main image. But overall I am pleased with the layout.

Final cut for DPS

This is my final cut for my double page spread. I have made sure I have cut the image out more carefully so there are no white lines, also I have added a number at the bottom of the page. Also I have changed the questions and made them red as it stands out alot more and ties in with the colour scheme better.

This is my final cut for my contents page I have added a number in at the bottom of the main image, also under every month I have made sure the text is all aligned properly.

Rough cut for front cover

This is my rough cut for my front cover. I think the main image is good because it has lots of attitude and stands out. But when I printed the image out her hand looked very red. Also the banner across the top of the page is very large so I need to make it slightly smaller.

Rough cut of double page spread

This is my rough cut for my double page spread. I am really pleased with the image I think it looks very cheeky and makes the page more interesting. But I think it does lack colour also I need to add in a number for the bottom of the page so that it looks more professional.

Contents page picture feedback

On my contents page I have this image as my main image. I didnt know there to just leave it on a white background or but the greyscale behind it. I asked my demographic which one they preffered and eight out of ten people said they preffered the greyscale picture so that is the one I have chosen to go on my contents page.

Edited front cover feedback

I got some feedback about my front cover as the hand above the girls head looked awkward so I edited the hand out. When I did this using photoshop I realised it looked too edited and didnt look realistic enough so I have decided to keep the hand in. Also I got some feedback from some pupils and they agreed that it looked too unrealistic to edit the hand out, also it makes the front cover look as though it has too much dead space on the right handside.

Front cover first design

This is my first design for my front cover. I want a big mid shot of a sexy popstar with lots of attiude to catch the demographics eye. Also I have included some of the most popular artists on the front cover to help encourage the readers to buy my magazine. As I have included artists such as: Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis.

Contents page first design

This is my first design of what I want my contents page to look like. I have included banners across the top and bottom as this is what a music magazine would usually include. Also music magazines usually have a features column and an every month coloumn which is why I have included it in my own contents page.

Double page spread first design

This is my first design of what I want my double page spread to look like. I have looked at Q magazine (my style model) to ensure that it is in the right format. I want a mid shot of Katy Perry to have lots of attitude as usually on double page spreads the image has attitude to interest the reader.

Feedback sheet

This was my feedback sheet I got back from completing my rough cuts of my magazine. This helped me improve my work for my final magazine as I got atleast ten pupils from my demographic to give me improvements.

Most of my demographic listen to music everyday as shown by my results, this shows how popular music really is which is why I think people enjoy reading music magazines so much as everyone loves music.

Diary entry 6

This week I have been given back my feedback from my rough cut contents, front cover and double page spread. This feedback has helped me complete my final magazine. For example I have changed the 'Goes bananas' on my double page spread into normal bold writing as it looks more proffessional. Also I have cut the image of Katy Perry out better on my double page spread so that it doesnt show any white lines around it. Furthermore, I have improved my contents page by adding numbers on each picture to identify which page it will be on as all music magazines do this. Also this week I have updated my blog and ensured that all my questionnaire results and draft cuts of my magazine are on.
